This series about strange Planet Zabor begins with a police investigation in a working place.

Police Inspector Zazo and his longtime friend and assistant Tomko are called to a huge hatchery of krrunchos to find a thief among the workers. Krrunchos are a Zaborian deli, so  most probably a worker smuggled the two krrunchos home and had already ate them. 

Zazo and Tomko consider this a job far below their professional level - they are tough policemen (you will better see that in Book 2) .

Soon their attention goes to Duna, a female worker who moves all around the hatchery.  

But later... this simple case develop in unexpected ways.
